In January 1988, Bill Elson and Brian Hood started in the financial industry at the same company on the same day. While their paths went separate ways, they remained friends and respected colleagues for 30 years.
In 2016, they merged together under the same Registered Investment Advisor to bring economies of scale and improved purchasing power for their clients.
In November 2018, Bill’s Spectrum Advisory Services joined Legacy Financial Group family. Both firms relocated their offices to 6000 Grand Avenue, Suite B, in Des Moines, Iowa.
In January 2020, Rachel Wood became a partner in the firm. She began working in the financial planning industry in 2002 and joined the firm in 2005.
Our team offers experienced and knowledgeable advisors and staff. You will find a good home for your financial planning needs here at Legacy.
As independent financial advisors, we take great pride in our freedom of thought when it comes to investment selection and investment philosophy. Our integrative approach enables us to work with our clients and for our clients.
Our business is built upon the following bedrock beliefs, and everyone who works at Legacy embodies these beliefs. We do not see them as words on a page, but descriptors of the way we conduct business and live our lives.
Our clients and colleagues can simply count on the fact that we aim to do the right thing by them. We seek to make choices that are in their best interests and earn this trust through demonstration.
We commit to our clients, and each other, to offer the very best we have to give and to continue to improve every day.
Stated very simply and clearly, human beings are built to give. In serving other people, and each other, we find deep meaning and fulfillment.
We believe having a company that projects good feelings, positive energy and smiling faces is good business and helps us attract good things into the lives of our clients.
We do not believe in separating our personal lives from the work we do. This creates an environment that is relaxed, yet intensely focused on results at the same time. We believe this kind of balance helps our clients pursue the life they want.
What We Look For In a Client
For us, assets alone are not what defines a successful advisor/client relationship. Instead we look to other factors that offer a good fit between our services and a potential client. That is why the initial discussions regarding expectations are so important to begin a relationship. We can't be the best company for everyone. A frank discussion about costs and benefits can determine if we are a right fit for each other.
Most of our clients come to us by referrals from existing clients. By offering superior service and experienced planning, we hope that will be your desire, as well.
