Laura joined Legacy Financial Group in 2026 to continue her career in the financial planning industry. A career changer, she worked as a performing musician and music educator before entering the financial industry in 2022. She believes in a comprehensive approach to financial health and enjoys helping clients from all walks of life.
A native of Augusta, Georgia, and a child of a military family, Laura graduated from the University of Georgia in 2004 with a degree in Music. She went on to earn a Master of Music from the Eastman School of Music, and spent several years as a music teacher and orchestral musician before relocating to Iowa, earning her Master of Arts in Teaching from Drake University, and teaching public school in the Des Moines metro area. Her wide variety of life experiences, combined with her passion for education, give her a unique perspective and an interest in helping clients at all stages of life.
Outside of work, Laura enjoys a wide variety of interests, from knitting and crochet to playing video games with her husband Jake. She also dabbles in aerial circus arts and plays bassoon with the Central Iowa Wind Ensemble.
