Erik brings a unique blend of competitive spirit, analytical discipline, and a passion for leadership to his work in financial services. A 2007 graduate of Lindenwood University, Erik was a member of the men’s hockey team and continued with the program as a coach for two years following graduation. His experience as both a player and coach helped shape his team-first mindset and results-driven approach.
Erik went on to coach junior hockey in the USHL and NAHL through 2019, mentoring athletes and helping them reach the next level of their careers. He currently serves as the Head Coach of Drake University’s Men’s Hockey Team, where he continues to develop players and build a competitive program grounded in accountability and culture.
In 2020, Erik transitioned into the financial services industry, beginning as a futures trader before moving into Compliance roles supporting several Registered Investment Advisers (RIAs) and two Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). His experience across trading and regulatory oversight provides him with a strong understanding of market dynamics, risk management, and fiduciary responsibility.
Outside of work and the rink, Erik enjoys golf, hockey, and spending time with his wife, Summer, and their two daughters, Natalie and Jane. Their home is full of activity with three dogs, two cats, and a variety of farm animals. Erik relocated to the Des Moines area in 2022 and continues to build deep roots in the community while helping clients pursue financial clarity and peace of mind.
